Event Registration - Volunteering with an Organization

Postby Deb McGinley » Wed Sep 26, 2012 11:14 am

Supposedly when someone registers for an event and the organization is in CiviCRM, that field should be populated. Drupal is not recognizing any of the organizations and gives this message: This field connects to the organization contact records in your CiviCRM database. It will auto-detect an organization in your database but will not add a new organization.

Currently working with Event > Site Work.

Your thoughts please.

Just a heads up: Since this is more a CiviCRM topic than Drupal, Deb, I moved it to that Forum board.

Your organization Contact Reference field is limited to a number of specific groups. In your instance, you need to set up an "organization" group and limit this field to that. This insures you're not exposing all your contact information to users. The field is located in your Volunteer Hours custom data set. Remove the groups listed in "Limit List to a Group", create a group for the organizations you want users to be able to search for, and limit this field to that group.

There is also a second issue with regards to Contact Reference fields: you need to either give permission for anonymous users to use these types of fields from within Drupal or set up specific access permissions. Since enabling permission for anonymous users can be a security risk, I will await your response before enabling this feature.

Best,
