Debug message?

We are getting a message in GF that looks like this:

WARNING: Debug is currently enabled in Global Settings. (learn more...)

It’s not having an effect on me, but the admin team is unable to write thank you letters or invitations – or anything involving templates – and they are receiving error messages (templates can’t be located, templates have bugs, etc). Can you advise?

Debugging can be turned on and off from the System Settings in CiviCRM. Although it should be turned off after use, it should not interfere with the working environment.

Something else is amiss and we are troubleshooting.
