I would like to start making SEO a priority for our site. Do you have recommendations where to start? I know that we can set page titles, should we also be using meta tags? Do we need a special module to do this?

Hi Kristine,

We opted not to enable the meta tags (nodewords) module because of existing bugs, customization needed to the theme and the fact that most search engines ignore meta tag keywords anyway.

You do have several built-in SEO features: your service links (social networking), Google Analytics and clean URL's. We can enable a page titles module that will enable you to customize your page titles page-by-page. But the best way to keep your site at the top of search engine lists is by writing good content that changes often and draws in users. Your event listings is a good example of this. Creating a blog is another good idea. You have blogging capabilities included with your site. Sending regular HTML emails is another good option.
